The Bressay lighthouse, built in the nineteenth century, allows you to get off the beaten path, and provides a tranquil and peaceful retreat with panoramic views across the coast and the sea. If you want to visit the Shetland isles, why not stay in one of its most famous landmarks?
The island of Bressay is just off the coast of mainland Shetland, allows you to enjoy the perfect combination of isolation while still having all amenities right on your doorstep. A ferry journey of only five minutes will take you to the capital town, where you can enjoy many facilities and activities!
The keeper's quarters has clean bright rooms with all the facilities for a comfortable stay. Some bedrooms have an amazing view over the sea, while others look upon the majestic lighthouse itself.
The cottage sleeps up to six persons. Two bedrooms have a double bed, and one is a twin room. A cot for infants is available and can be placed in any room you like. Bedlinen is provided and the beds will be made up prior to your arrival.
In a separate cottage you will find both a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The bathroom is equipped with an electric shower, wash hand basin, toilet, and central heating. Towels are also provided!
Besides the bedrooms, there is a comfortable living room with a seating area, television and DVD player. The dining table allows you to enjoy your home cooked meals. These meals can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, that includes: fridge, stove/cooker/grill/oven, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, cutlery and crockery, pots and pans. Basic supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided on arrival along with a complimentary selection of local ale and oatcakes for you to enjoy while settling in!

A wonderful holiday in Shetland, stayed at Bressay lighthouse, then here. The two complemented each other well. Highlights: Puffins, tombolo, Mousa Broch, Noss. Loved it!! And the friendly Shetlanders!
