Lighthouse summary

Veronica Cottage is one of two cottages found at Anvil Point Lighthouse, within the grounds of Durlseton Country Park. The grounds are two miles from Swanage in Dorset and offer stunning panoramic views and a unique Dorset holiday.

Located on the Dorset Coast, the lighthouse is a great location for exploring the stunning coastline and rural villages of Dorset. Swanage town has many pubs, restaurants, shops, and other facilities.

Lighthouse description

Veronica Cottage is made up of three bedrooms, one en suite bathroom, and one bathroom, sleeping up to six guests, with a minimum stay of two nights. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed.

The cottage is fully equipped with a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, DVD player, electric cooker, Electric wood burner, and a payphone. Travel cots and high chairs for children are also available and there is garden furniture to use outside.

There is an unenclosed private side garden area and an unenclosed shared garden area to the rear of the house. Whilst it is an active automated lighthouse, there is no fog signal. Parking is available within the lighthouse grounds. The water at this cottage is not suitable for drinking and so bottled water is provided.

Nearby guests can visit the National Trust’s historic Corfe Castle, or enjoy a day at Lulworth Cove. Within Poole Harbour, visitors can explore Brownsea Island and Studland Beach makes a great day out for the whole family. The famous Swanage Railway is also within easy reach of the cottage.
