Lighthouse summary
The Link Cottage is one of two semi-detached cottages at the Cromer Lighthouse near the North Norfolk town of Cromer. The cottages boast spectacular panoramic views and make an ideal location for a romantic holiday.
The original lighthouse was built in 1680 but was rebuilt in 1833 with a white octagonal tower. It was automated in 1990 and is now used as holiday accommodation.
Lighthouse description
Link Cottage is made up of one bedroom and one double sized shower room and sleeps 2 people with a minimum stay of two nights. The cottage is fully equipped with a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, DVD player, electric hob and oven, electric wood burner, garden furniture, and a payphone.
There is a walled garden with sea views and onsite parking. The lighthouse is an active automated lighthouse, but there is no fog signal. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed at the lighthouse and the cottage is not equipped for babies or children.
The lighthouses are one mile from Cromer, which is a ten-minute stroll along the beach or coastal path. Cromer has many pubs, shops, and seafood restaurants and is well known for Cromer crab sandwiches. It has a long sandy beach with colourful beach huts making it a very popular holiday destination. There is a pier with a theatre and café and tourists can hire dipping nets and buckets to catch crabs. There is also an excellent seafront restaurant on the pier. The coastal path takes visitors to Overstrand where the White horse restaurant and bar is located. Many activities can be organised through Norfolk Adventure including kayaking, canoeing, rowing, and boat tours.
