Lighthouse summary

Charity Light is a lighthouse on Big Charity located 10 miles out in the middle of Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron just off the coast of Au Gres,  Michigan.  Here you experience the quiet peace of living and the mystique of staying at the Charity Lightkeepers Home located next to the lighthouse that was built in 1857.

The was named by the lake mariners for its location, placed in the middle of a dangerous bay "through the charity of God" as a refuge for mariners needing refuge from storms and winds of Lake Huron.
