    Great night

We spent a great night at the B&B. It exceeded my expectations, with classic old furnishings, gorgeous views from every side, and a completely relaxed homey feeling.

After a warm fall day of hiking, lighthouse keeper Melissa welcomed us with warm drinks and a relaxed tour of the building and made us feel in our own home. We were lucky to have the entire lighthouse to ourselves and not have to share the bathroom, which would have been fine anyway with the layout, but certainly a nice perk! We watched the sunset on the harbor and saw the geese flying past our window overlooking Lake Superior when we got back inside. We walked for drinks in town at Castle Danger and the VFW, and brought a delicious pizza back with us to spend the evening in, including reading some ghost stories written by guests over the years. We were even greeted by three friendly deer when we got back! In the morning we shared a delicious coffee and breakfast by Melisa with the other visitors in the guest house, and wandered the grounds again before we headed out. A lovely getaway from the Twin Cities, thank you!
