Lighthouse summary

On top of the impressive cliffs of at the southernmost point of mainland Shetland, the lighthouse is visible for miles around. The keeper's quarters are available for rent, and have been recently restored to a very high standard, with the aim of re-creating a traditional lighthouse keeper's cottage. But now there are some added touches of luxury that weren't there before!

The keeper's cottage is situated on an RSPB nature reserve which is a popular visitor location. The Visitor Centre on-site is open between April and September each year and purchasing a season ticket will give access to all indoor displays and facilities!

As a visitor, the experience will be unforgettable because you can access all the authentic buildings that are part of the lighthouse complex, such as the smithy, engine room, and the radar hut. Try out for yourself!

    Lovely place to visit

lovely place to visit, just be aware that you can not take a car up, although there is limited disable parking at the top so is disable friendly. Great views suitable for all the family , from young to old. Make sure to take binoculars with you to see puffins and other birds you may also be lucky to see whales.
